As I’ve said to others before, my beef is not that he was cancelled; it’s that this Corvino clown was booked in the first place, and that he STAYED booked for so long; it was an 11th-hour cancellation, but I guess the saying, “better late than never” holds true here. I’m glad that Dr. Balog set the precedent that he can and will use his presidential authority, but I think it does say something about Aquinas that there was not already a policy in place to say, “Look, they can’t bash the Church, mmm’kay?” Ah well. As someone who will be an alumni, I’m very pleased with this.

Now if only they would stop admitting more freshmen than they can afford to house and kicking everyone else off campus, forcing some to drop out of college all together because they cannot attend unless they live on campus. Friggin’ Trustees….but that is another blog for another day.

Now if only I thought any priest around here would offer the TLM once permission is granted…and, someone please correct me if I’m wrong, I’ve never heard of Cardnal George being strict with his permissions to say the TLM in the first place.  My understanding is that there’s just little interest among the priest and the laity; those who want it pretty much have it.  And I’ll still sit through the Novus Ordo in my parish so long as the words of consecration remain valid, untill/unless a TLM becomes avalible near my house. (My parents keep a pretty short leash on where I can take the car, barring weddings, pretty much.)

So yeah, blog rumors are nice, but it’s stories from sites like this that really raise my hopes and expectations. This should also give us cause to pray that this can lead to some kind of healing and reconcilliation for those schismatics or otherwise canonnically irregular, often over this Mass, to be brought back into full communion with the Vatican.
Pope Sts. Pius V and Pius X, pray for the reconcilliation of the orgranizations that bear your names.

I’m off to a wedding tomorrow for two friends of mine. It’s a few states over (see above comments on car,) and I’d appreciate any prayers for safe travel that anyone has to throw at me. This will be the longest I’ve ever driven alone, and the farthest I’ll be from home by myself. Needless to say, a bit daunting. =-S

Restorationists and schismatics will probably not be satisfied, but oh well. I’d be happier over the prospect if I thought any priest in my nearby parishes would offer the Tridentine Mass. The only real question mark around me is St. Stephen’s, since that parish is so new. I have no idea how orthodox or not the priests there are.

I should probably mention now, and I’ll make a sidebar note of this later, that on this blog, as far as I’m concerned SSPX is at least irregular, if not outright in schism on the parts of some of its members. FSSP and ICK are the orders I would rather attend a Mass by (though Sacred Heart in Grand Rapids, MI, does have an indult Mass (12:30PM, Low Mass, I think…) that is offered by the parish priest. I would almost think he had to get the authorization when Bishop Britt, God rest his soul, was in charge, because I cannot imagine Bishop Rose doing that, and Bishop Hurley….I don’t know *what* to make of him, especially after he can attend that mess of a “Mass” that goes on on my campus and not find anything wrong with it! I wanted to hug Fr. L., (I can’t spell it…) from St. Isadore’s, that time he celebrated Mass on campus due to our normal “Sacramental Minister” (the priest) having a broken arm. It was Lent, (4th Sunday, I think…) and as usual, most people were refusing to kneel for the consecration, buying Campus Ministry’s excuse about a lack of kneelers. (OK, we’re in our late teens-early 20s! Our knees are usually still in more than adequate shape.) Well, Fr. L. said something to the effect of, “Lent is a penitential time, so we’re going to kneel. If you cannot, sit on the front-most edge of your chair.” I could have run up and hugged him for that.
