OK, these freaks would raise Cain if the Cardinal were to intrude one of THEIR meetings, but disrupt the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass? Sure! Where we are to be our MOST humble, they can only think about their own “cause” and their own self-posturing. My choice of Current Music was not without forethought. I’m actually really glad this article did not try to make these schmucks out to be martyrs. For anyone who’s read The Screwtape Letters, by CS Lewis, this makes me think of when Screwtape tells Wormwood to make sure that the Patient’s “faith” goes no deeper than “Christianity and the Cause.” Always Christianity and _____ (insert war, peace, whatever you want here,) where Christ and His word and preaching and His Church are only worth anything to the extent that they can be sacrificed on the altar of the Cause. Catholic Social Teaching is only worth something when it’s Iraq; turn to Roe vs. Wade, homosexual “marriage,” or anything like that, and all that nice rhetoric dries up QUICK.

I’d rant more, but I’ve homework.

Why am I taking the GRE, ye ask? Applying here: http://ace.nd.edu for their Teacher Formation Program. I beg ye, readers, (if there be any,) pray that they’ll accept me. I really don’t see any reason why they SHOULD, but as long as they don’t know that… =-p It’s not that I think I’d be bad for the program, just that there will likely be a few hundred students applying more qualified in just about every sense of the term than myself. I think the only thing I have going for me are USCCB guidelines that require Catholic schools to have religion teachers with some kind of Theology background (be it a major, minor, whatever.) I would say I have my Theology major going for me, but while my college has a good theology program, there’s nothing besides my own testimony to convince Notre Dame of that.

Goodness knows I’m not exactly some great theologian; I just want to teach the foundations of the faith to young children.  Baltimore Catechism and all that, the simpler stuff.

Been hunting for a Mass in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite here at home, and no luck there.  Grrr… both here and where I go to school, all we have in the EF is the same Indult Masses we had pre-Summorum Pontificum.  At school, I don’t have a car, and here I have nowhere to drive it.  :p  One listing of TLMs listed a parish in the town my mother grew up in, not so far from here, but when I went to that parish’s website, the only non-English Mass I could find any indication of existence of was Spanish.

Oh wow it’s late/early…methinks going to sleep now would be a good idea…
